Welcome back!
Young Thai Coconuts are a delicious and nutritious addition to your diet.

Young coconuts are natures best electrolyte drink.
In fact, it has been said that the juice from a young thai coconut is the closest thing to human blood plasma in the plant kingdom.
The juice has been used in I.V.’s to aid in recovery from severe dehydration… it’s that good!
Here’s the kicker: The juice and the flesh from a young thai coconut is delicious. It can be eaten/drank straight from the coconut or you can use it in a variety of recipes from smoothies to salads to cookies…
How Do You Open A Young Thai Coconut?
I’m glad you asked!
The hardest thing about eating a young thai coconut is getting it open.
This has always been a challenge for me.
I even took a class on how to open them and still had trouble…
… Until I found the following video!
In this video, Chef Steffy Sue of Rawk in the Kitchen demonstrates an easy “no hassle” way to open young thai coconuts.
Watch the video
Doesn’t that look easy?
I tried this myself and opened my young thai coconut on the first try.
Very cool!
Have you ever tried to open a young thai coconut?

THANK YOU! I succeeded on my first try–me so happy! I was totally deterred from coconuts cuz I had such a hard time opening them. THANK YOU!

Excellent tutorial. Many good points were stated.
The “How To” video Demonstration worked perfectly after I realized I started on the bottom and not the pointed top.
after using the knofe as shown, I used the cleaver at the 45 degree angle and it opened as the video shows.
Easy to walk on water when you know where the stones are.
Thanks Steffy Sue and Whole Foods
