Mercury contamination in fish is a common topic of discussion in regards to the food we eat. In fact, it was a hot topic of discussion at a gathering that I spoke at over the weekend.
Here’s the deal, exposure to mercury is something that you need to be concerned about. However, mercury exposure from fish is not your greatest source of mercury contamination.
It has been shown that mercury from fillings produces the majority of human exposure to toxic levels of mercury.
Watch the following video to see why mercury fillings are toxic fillings:
Two key points of interest:
1. If you have mercury fillings, you are exposed to toxic mercury every minute of every day.
2. Mercury from fillings has been shown to transfer from the expecting mother into every tissue of the unborn fetus. Furthermore, mercury contamination increases after the child is born due to contamination from mother’s milk.
Isn’t that horrible?
The following article on MSN gives you 4 great questions to ask your dentist on your next visit:
Toxic Fillings: What you need to know before your next visit to the dentist
Note: I find it disturbingly comical that the American Dental Association maintains that amalgams are safe.
Here’s something for you to think about:
The American Dental Association says that it is safe to put mercury into your mouth, but if you break open a mercury filled thermometer and throw the exposed mercury into your garbage can… you can be arrested or fined for contaminating a land fill.
Let me know what you thoughts are on this subject.
I’m interested in hearing what you have to say.
Committed to your success.

I’ve never understood this either. And my mouth is filled with these things. Maybe someday I’ll be able to afford to have them replaced with something safer.
Thanks for pointing out a health hazard that many people aren’t aware of.

I think I may have some of these fillings as well. I’ll have to get it checked out.

Hi Darlene,
I know how you feel.
I have 6 mercury fillings.
I hope to be able to have them replaced soon.
Not only is it costly, but you have to do diligent research to find a dentist that will use proper methods in removing the mercury from your mouth and replace the fillings with a composite material that is compatible to your body.
Best of luck to you.
Peace.
