Well, It’s that time of year again.
It’s time for me to do another whole foods based cleanse.
I call it the simple cleanse.
It’s a natural holistic detoxification and cleansing process that I do about 3 or 4 times per year.
It’s really cool.
I call it the simple cleanse because it’s… well… it’s simple.
It’s simple, it’s natural, and it’s based on beneficial whole foods.
There are no powders, pills, or potions involved.
As you know, I am a huge proponent of a whole foods and living foods diet.
So, it only makes sense that I would pursue a simple cleanse based on life giving whole foods.
Why Do I Cleanse 3 or 4 Times A Year?
Because it’s good for me.
I eat fairly healthy throughout the entire year, but I do eat foods that aren’t good for me every once in a while.
Also, I drink coffee on a daily basis.
Couple this with the fact that we live in a world that is polluted with environmental toxins and… you get the picture.
The simple cleanse basically reformats your internal hard drive; it gives you a clean slate, a fresh start, a mental clarity that can only be described as amazingly beautiful.
It’s good to cleanse as the seasons change. That is why I do it 3 or 4 times a year.
Plus, as I mentioned earlier, it gives me an excuse to abstain from coffee for 21 days.
Which leads us to the next question:
How long is the simple cleanse?
The simple cleanse is a 21 day journey.
It’s a progressive process.
The first week is fairly mild, while each subsequent week gets progressively more intense.
A Little History
About six years ago I was going through a transformational process in my life.
A had made the long journey back from overweight and obesity that you have read about in the About Me section of this blog, but I felt like something was missing.
While shopping at lululemon, a yoga store in Santa Monica, CA, I noticed a flyer for a 21 day cleansing and detoxification program.
I took the flyer home, attended the workshop, and discovered a whole new life.
My first whole food cleanse took place in the company of about 40 or 50 other people. It was amazing.
When I came out the other side of the 21 days, I felt fantastic.
My eyes sparkled, my skin looked great, and I felt at peace with the world around me. I developed a higher level of consciousness, as well as a better understanding of myself and the world in which we live.
Basically, the simple cleanse helped me find the final pieces to the puzzle that were missing in my life.
Why Am I Telling You All Of This?
I am starting the next whole food cleanse on Monday September 29, 2008.
Myself, and 7 of my clients are embarking on this journey together.
So, I thought it would be fun to track this 21 day journey on this blog.
I will chart my progress; telling you how I feel and what I am going through.
Also, I will keep you up to date in respect to the types of foods that I am eating or drinking throughout the entire process.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns along the way.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this subject.
Also, I would love to hear your experiences with different types of cleansing processes that you have done in the past.
Committed to your success!
