Getting Rid Of Cellulite Made Easy
This post will tell you how to get rid of cellulite via diet, exercise and a few special techniques. The first thing you need to understand is it is going to require discipline and patience.
In order to get rid of unsightly cellulite it is helpful to understand what it is and what causes it. Here is the dictionary definition of cellulite; persistent subcutaneous fat causing dimpling of the skin, especially on women’s hips and thighs, so the first step to reducing cellulite is to lose some fat, although thin women suffer from cellulite it is not as obvious or common.
Cellulite affects women more than men (90 percent of women will experience cellulite at some point in their lives) this is because the connective tissue in men’s fat cells is different to women. So this article is mainly targeted at women. One of the main causes of cellulite is believed to be from poor micro-circulation which makes it harder for nutrients to get to everywhere they need to go.
It is not 100 percent proven exactly what causes cellulite but there are theories from professionals as well as correlations that we can observe in those most affected, here are some things that can cause cellulite;
#Over production of estrogen
#Loss in skin elasticity
#Toxicity in your body
#A body that is too acidic
Tip – Cellulite is more visible in lighter colored skin so a good start would be to get a tan
Step 1 – Adjust Your Diet
Foods That Help In The Reduction Of Cellulite;
Chia Seeds; these power packed seeds contain an enormous amount of nutritional value, most notably lots of vitamin C, antioxidants and essential fatty acids, these will help to improve skin elasticity and circulation. Chia seeds have been shown to reduce appetite thus aiding in weight loss. There are many more health benefits associated with chia seeds and the good thing is that they can be found not only in health food stores but many supermarkets are selling them for a very wallet friendly price.
Tip – Turn chia seeds into chia jelly by soaking the seeds in a glass of water for 1-2 hours, this will help to absorb nutrients better…
Avocado; This delicious buttery fruit helps with cellulite loss in much the same way as chia seeds, being rich in antioxidants, vitamin c and essential fatty acids. Many individuals avoid them because of their high fat content but what you need to keep in mind is that the fats are healthy fats which are essential for a healthy body and avocados are quite filling so an avocado or two a day is ok. They also help to alkalize the body
Tip – Avocado seeds are also highly nutritious.
Apple Cider Vinegar; Great for mixing in with salad dressings and with it’s potassium, magnesium and calcium content it aids with flushing out toxins thus relieving water retention around the thighs and stomach. Also it’s detoxing properties can help with hormonal levels and proper liver function leading to weight loss! This is definitely something you want to keep in your pantry.
Tip – Apple cider vinegar also has topical uses.
Green Tea/Herbal Tea; Green tea has a myriad of health properties which help with reduction in cellulite. Herbal Tea will help you lose weight, increase your circulation, alkalize and detox your body. Also it is very effective in reducing your risk of cancer. Just remember to drink water in conjunction with tea.
Tip – Consuming vitamin C rich foods in conjunction with drinking green tea can help absorb nutrients more effectively
Chick Peas; Commonly consumed in the form of a dip named ‘Hummus’. It is a low-glycemic food, what that means is your body can utilize it more efficiently for energy, the end result is smaller fat cells giving a decreased appearance of and/or prevention of cellulite. Not to mention it is high in fibre and protein so it is filling and a good substitute for meat – meat is often full of toxins and can lead to too much protein intake, unused protein gets converted to fat cells.
Tip – As mentioned above, great to be made into a dip, can be used in salads or even make a delicious vegan curry..
Leafy Green Vegetables ; Lettuce, Spinach, Kale etc. We all know that greens are good for us but how exactly? Glad you asked – GLV are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fibre etc…. All of that beneficial nutrients not only aids with weight loss, fighting off cellulite, they also help to keep you young and healthy! You really have nothing to lose (except cottage cheese thighs) and everything to gain so get eating those greens.
Tip – Green Vegetables are not the tastiest of foods to eat so try adding them to salads or add with fruit in a green smoothie/ juice.
Foods that are rich in antioxidants and that are over all good for your health will help with circulation, detoxification and the break down of fats.
These foods are very beneficial for your health in more ways than just removing cellulite, so there really is no reason to incorporate them into your diet starting today!
Foods That Cause Cellulite
Refined Sugar – along with causing cellulite this nasty stuff also speeds up the aging process and damages every organ in your body, weather you want to remove cellulite or not you should remove refined sugar from your diet.
Dairy – Dairy these days is full of hormones and antibiotics and on top of that it is very acid forming. Those are three reasons to avoid it if you want to reduce the amount of cellulite you have. This is one of the reasons asian women on average have noticeably less cellulite than western women. (very little milk in the asian diet)
Processed food – Fills your body with toxins which plays all sorts of havoc on the body. These foods should be avoided as much as possible and replaced with fresh organic wholefoods.
Alcohol – Fills the body with toxins and will make your body more acidic further more alcohol reduces the positive effects of vitamin C, zinc and calcium in the body, thus reducing the effect of breaking down fats into fatty acids.
These foods should be avoided by everyone not just those who have a problem with cellulite.
Step 2 Exercises That Reduce Cellulite
Exercise helps with improving circulation and weight loss as well as the sweating done whilst working out will help rid your body of toxins, be sure to drink plenty of water.
Core Exercises; Working your mid section has numerous benefits, strong abdominal muscles improve digestion and help your back stay strong thus reducing your chance of back problems later in life. make sure to target side abdominal muscles as well as lower back muscles as well.
Squats/lunges; Squats and lunges target all of your leg muscles simultaneously as well as a bit of your core. Squats and lunges will help get rid of cellulite on your thighs and butt. It is very easy to injure your self doing squats so if you don’t know what your doing please seek professional guidance and start off with light weights.
Push ups/bench press/Pull downs; These exercises mainly target your chest and upper back but also target your arms, many women particularly have problems with their triceps (the back part of your arm which gets worked via push ups and bench press) This is good to tone up upper body, how ever cellulite in arms is not as common as thighs,butt and stomach. So if you are not having problems in those areas and are pressed for time then you can skip these workouts.
Cardio; This can be running, cycling,jogging or swimming etc. The benefits of cardiovascular exercises include fat loss, improved circulation toning of body and increased general health.

Massage – Massaging the part of your body affected will help improve your circulation which in turn helps to reduce cellulite in those areas.
Dry brush – This also helps with circulation.
Exercise – Again this helps with circulation and it also is a great way to detox, sweat it all out!
Make your own cellulite scrub;
1 c coffee grounds (used or fresh preferably organic) or instant coffee
1/2 cup of castor oil
1/2 c sea salt
1/2 c brown sugar
If you are sensitive to caffeine then you want to do this in the morning, Mix ingredients together and massage over your skin for about five minutes. The coffee and massaging will help blood flow whilst the castor oil is a great detox (among many other benefits). Do this a maximum of three times a week until cellulite is reduced, test on a small spot for nasty reaction before doing the whole area.
