As I’ve previously mentioned, I became a vegan for healthful reasons, but I remain a vegan for ethical reasons. The following short video (4 minutes) is a soft core look into a few of the many reasons for my decision:
Have you heard of the Meatrix?
Do you want to know what it is?
The Meatrix is all around you, Neo; it’s the lie we tell ourselves about where our food comes from.
Take the Blue Pill and remain in the fantasy.
Take the Red Pill and I’ll show you the Truth…
The Meatrix is a light hearted look at a very serious situation.
The unethical treatment of animals, from conception to the plate, is having a dire effect on us as a nation. Unhealthy meat leads to unhealthy people.
Be sure to leave a comment. I’d love to hear what you have to say.

I had tears because it is so nice to connect to others who feel the same as I do about animals. Amazing and wonderful post!!!!

Thanks Heidi. I was apprehensive about writing this post, but this is who I am.
The internet is a wonderful tool for helping people with similar interests connect.
Have a great day!

Hi Alexander, I’m a bit confused by your use of the terms vegan and vegetarian (with regards to that post and its predecessor). So let me ask, if your a vegan and therefore do consume no animal products at all, or a vegetarian – consuming dairy, eggs etc. Thanks!

Hi DK,
I started out as a vegetarian and slowly made my way towards vegan.

I completely respect your thoughts, as I’m a huge animal rights supporter myself. I donate my time and my money to the ASPCA and my local shelter, and I always take advantage of an opportunity to spread the word when I can. I am not, however, a vegetarian. I don’t eat meat every day (I do eat eggs every day), but I eat meat 3-4 times a week. I feel that God put animals on the planet for us to eat. He made man a predator – our ancestors were meat-eaters – and that’s just the circle of life. I do pay attention to the treatment of animals, and I don’t think the way they are treated in life is right. That is definitely something that needs to be resolved.
