Pharmaceuticals have been found in the water ways and ground water in and around 24 major metropolitan areas & their surrounding communities.
Yes, it’s true, a recent report in the evening news stated that studies conducted by an independent “watch dog” group detected a variety of pharmaceutical drugs in the water in and around 24 major metropolitan areas including Los Angeles.
Pharmaceuticals found in the water include:
• Estrogen
• Acetomeniphen
• Ibuprofen
• Muscle Relaxors
• Anti depressants
Question: Why hasn’t the local government or the water companies themselves discovered any of these substances in our water?
Answer: Local government and municipal water companies are not required to test for these substances in our water. They are only required to test the water for a small list of contaminants in our water. Of course, they only check for the bare minimum of what is required.
I don’t know about you, but if I am going to take drugs, I want to do it of my own free will; not because I am forced to. The implications run far and wide as to why or how these substances got into our water.
Those of you that know me personally are aware of the fact that I am against the widespread use of pharmaceuticals. These findings are very disturbing to me.
Question: How do these drugs end up in our water ways in the first place?
Answer: Hundreds of millions of people take drugs on a daily basis. Their bodies absorb some of the medications/drugs but the rest passes through and is flushed down the toilet.
Now, here’s the most disgusting part of this story: The flushed toilet water is treated, discharged into rivers and lakes, routed back to a water treatment plant, and piped to consumers (us).
In other words, some of the water that we are drinking and taking showers with is recycled waste water from toilets!
The water is treated, but these treatments do not remove all of the drugs.
This is one of the reasons why you need a whole house filtration system. If nothing else, you need a water filter for your drinking water and for your shower.
I don’t know about you, but this whole thing sounds disgusting to me. This is further proof that federal and local governments do not have our best interests at heart when it comes to our health and well being.
We have to become as informed as we possibly can and take the well being of ourselves and our loved ones into our own hands.
Looking out for you:
This is why I wrote the new book, Better Living With Whole Foods, and why I created this website; to inform you of what is going on with our food supply and give you the resources necessary to make the most informed decisions.
