I found your post today while trying to tell a friend online about Skinny Cow products. All I got in response was "It tastes so good!" (I actually think it tastes gross) and also "But it's so tasty!" I'm sick and tired of seeing folks that are 'experts' suggest this product (and others that are similar) over and over. Ice cream should only have 4-5 ingredients. Milk, sugar, cream etc.

Thank you for a great post!

Most foods like this are mostly water which is where most of the other 70 odd grams are contained. The other stuff is in mg or mcg doses.

She feels so much better and has brought down her cholesterol and blood pressure. I had her get me your book and I am very excited about starting the healthy eating suggestions. I especillay like the smoothie drink. I showed the book to a friend and she wants a book, so I will have Coco get one and mail it to me.
Hi Alejandra,
It would be good to cut gluten from your diet for a period of 3 months. See how you're feeling after that.
For people that have joint pain and stiffness: I've seen people make amazing recoveries by cutting gluten and plant oils from their diet.

You might do well by reading my book, Better Living With Whole Foods. It's a great reference manual that could help you get closer to vibrant health.

Good luck on your journey! And, keep me posted. I'm interested to hear how things turn out for you. :-)

Hi Lironah,
You'll have to do a little detective work to discover what foods have ingredients that your body can tolerate.
There's a little bit of a learning curve, but it becomes easy once you find out what foods agree with you. And, you'll love the way you feel.

Best of luck on your journey towards vibrant health! :-)

I've recently become sensitive to HFCS, just like 2 other members of my family. I try to avoid it, but so far it seems impossible. It makes me so mad whenever I discover I've eaten foods made with it, disguised as something else. How am I supposed to live my life when half the food in the store will make me ill by nightfall?

Alexander,

Hello! I enjoyed reading your article on how gluten affects the body. For the past 7 years I've had issues with joint pain and muscle aches, and even have joint damadge in both my wrists (limited movement) and both my feet because of the inflammation I've had over the nyears. I've had medical issue since I did a high protein low carb diet in 2004, which lasted about a year. My body has never been the same since, and I suffer from joint and muscle pain - as well as back pain. I now understand that eating too much protein caused my body to be acidic , therefore it had to pull calcium from my bones (since I probably wasn't consuming enough calcium) to neutralize he acid. This is probably why I felt so much pain. I've seen countless of doctors and specialists, but never been diagnosed with anything in specific. However, since then I've made some changes and have improved somewhat, but I still feel joint pain, muscle aches, and bloated all the time. I'm curious to know if gluten could be the problem. I'm only 33 years old and my kids depend on me to be well. I want to feel vibrant and healthy like I once did... How do I find out for sure if I'm gluten intolerant?

I really am enjoying your findings, when it comes to the issues of gluten and wheat. I am 37 years old and have never been allergic to anything ( that i know of ) , but as of late, I think i have developed a wheat or gluten allergy. Whenever I eat fruits/ vegetables and water, I am fine. As soon as I consume bread or something processed, it takes a few minutes but I start itching like crazy ! In my life, I have never had to use a lot of medication, but as of late I have had to have with me, some type of allergy medicine such as Benadril or Claritan. Gonna visit an Allergist soon, to make sure. But your commentary really has me thinking about eliminating all, (ALL !) processed foods from my diet. My family and I do well with our diet, but we can do alot better. Thanks
