It is amazing how what we eat affects us! I admire you immensley on being vegan which is my life goal. RIght now I am a very, very strict vegetarian but need to kick the organic cheese and then I am almost there! This is really an amazing study and I think I am going to delve further into it.

Same here. I eat mostly natural foods - haven't had a cold in four years. Flu? Bypasses me. So does every other ailment my kids brought home. I'm not sure if that's the lack of preservatives or the vegetarian diet, but I'm thinking I'll just stay both. :))

Not completely unrelated, but there is a myth in medicine that C-sections are necessary because babies are too big at times - the body normally does not create and sustain a baby too large to birth; however, studies have shown that women from Asian cultures who have had children in their native homeland and then come to the US and have a second child are more likely to need emergency C-sections because their babies really are too big - it seems the change in diet to higher fat, less quality protein may be the culprit. I thought your entry was interesting and that this fact kind of relates.

Thanks for the info/advice. My homeopathic wanted me to buy an ionizer because he feels that bottled water can't be trusted. He felt this would be the better of the purifiers (reverse osmosis, etc.) because it would augment my diet to keep my pH in balance. I don't have a home purifier and thought of buying one. I know that eventually it would be cost productive. I know it would not take the place of eating a low acidic diet. I just need a reliable source of clean water and the added benefit of it being alkaline would be nice.

Today my morning pH test was the best (finally @ 7.0) it's been. My muscle cramping is much better, although I still get "aches". I have restarted an anti-yeast regimen and some of it could be "die off". Are yeast and acidity hand in hand?? Thanks for all your help!

@Lill
I'm glad things are going so well for you.
I have not researched water ionizers that much.

I know that it is important to get one that is high quality.
The internal components should be very high quality.

I have found that eating beneficial whole foods and drinking good clean water is your best bet.

The water ionizer can be an addition to your healthy diet, but it is not absolutely necessary.

This is just my opinion.
There are a lot of gizmos and gadgets available in the alternative health market.
It is hard to decipher which ones are good and which ones aren't.

Keep doing what you are doing and be proud of yourself for making a positive change in your life. :)

Wow....every day gets better!! As my pH strip turns darker, my fibromyalgia pain abates! I was wondering if you know anything about water ionizers? My homeopath said that ionized water would help keep my pH in balance. Is there one brand better than the rest? Thanks
